Monday, 6/22/20 - A Time You Do Not Expect
The Daily Manna
Welcome to your Monday devotional. Let’s start the week off with God.
Devotional
We are currently in a series of devotionals over the book of Matthew. Every day we will have a devotion from a different chapter of the book.
Text: “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” - Matthew 24:44
Devotional: It’s very easy to get sidetracked in our spiritual walks and let the allure of the world keep us from giving our relationship with God our all. But in this section, Jesus warns of complacency in our faith, and the risks of not being ready at all times. He gives an example of a house being broken into in the night because the owner was not keeping watch (v. 43). In your Christian walk, do you realize there is no such thing as a “part-time” Christian, and that you must be ready at all times to meet the Lord when He comes (v. 46)?
Prayer: My Father, I want to be ready when Jesus returns. I want to be prepared. Please give me a desire to be ready all day today and everyday!
Challenge: Consider if today was your LAST day? What would you do?
