Devotional

We are currently in a series of devotionals over the book of Matthew. Every day we will have a devotion from a different chapter of the book.

Text: “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” - Matthew 5:13

Devotional: Salt is good for flavor, and preservation. If Christians aren’t bringing flavor to a bitter world, and if we aren’t helping to preserve those in it from the disease of sin, then Jesus says we are of no use to Him, and will be thrown out. Will you be the salt of the earth today and give flavor to, and help preserve, this bitter, dying world? 

Prayer: Lord God, I want to be of use to you in your kingdom. Please help me to be the salt that you desire, and that I may not be thrown out. Help me to always accomplish your purpose. 

Challenge: Make the world a better place today by spreading the good flavor of kindness. Don’t be bitter.

  • We are in need of donations to the food pantry. The following items are needed:

    • Soups

    • Dry soup mixes

    • Ramen

    • Canned pastas (i.e. Spaghettios)

    • Noodles

    • Mac & Cheese

    • Spaghetti Sauce

    • Canned Chili

    • Canned Stew

    • Canned meat

    • Flour

    • Oatmeal

    • Pancake mix

    • Powdered milk

    • Peanut butter

    • Jellies

    • Plastic shopping bags

  • With many people out of a job with the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to help a number of individuals and families this past week with our food pantry.
