Devotional

We are currently in a series of devotionals over the book of Matthew. Every day we will have a devotion from a different chapter of the book.

Text: “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 18:4

Devotional: It is human nature to want to be something great. The apostles came to Jesus and asked who is greatest in God’s kingdom. Jesus is quick to inform them that greatness is not about being first, or most important. As an example of true greatness, Jesus shows them a child. The reason Jesus gives for greatness? Humility. Are you great in the eyes of God? Are you humble?

Prayer: Lord, I want to be like a little child in love, forgiveness and innocence. Help me to be humble and  put other’s wants and needs above my own so that I can truly be great in Your kingdom.

Challenge: Put yourself second today and do something selfless for someone else.
