Friday, 3/27/20 - The One And Only
The Daily Manna
Welcome to your Friday devotional and news update.
COVID-19 SITUATION: Due to the state mandated ban on public gatherings, and in order to best protect our members, guests, and our community, all public gatherings and events are suspended until further notice. Please subscribe to The Daily Manna to stay informed.
Devotional
We are currently in a series of devotionals over the book of Matthew. Every day we will have a devotion from a different chapter of the book.
Text: “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” - Matthew 4:10
Devotional: While Satan may not visit us and ask us to worship him directly, the world is tempting us to do just that every day. We can worship Satan by putting anything in place of God. Notice Jesus’ solution—God must be the only object of devotion and worship in your life.
Prayer: Lord God, I place you on the throne of my heart. There is no other God but you, and I serve you with my whole being. Please forgive me for the times I do not give you my all.
Challenge: Identify three things that have stood in the place of God (most important) in your life. Now determine if those things are becoming less important, or more important as time goes on. Is God becoming more so?
